I’d have liked to be hypermasculine, but I never had the knack
In fact my lack of natural athleticism’s what makes me so good at feminism

For example it made me feel sad when you said I made you sad,
And I don’t need no therapy, when I can just tell you my fantasies,
Of being famous, being loved and beating up my dad

In fact I’m taking time just to unwind and focus on my art,
Do you read Marx? If you read Marx you’d see that what you call misogyny
Is just a part of the oppression of the white male working class.

And if that makes me a hero, then I guess that’s what I am
I’m sex positive and poly, I’ll write you poems and sell you molly,
I’m not good at saying sorry but I’m fucking great at starting bands

I’m not like all the other boys, I sing songs like this ironically
to distance myself implicitly from forms of masculinity
that pervade lefty communities, blind to my own hypocrisy,
far too far up my own ass to see that maybe the problem is me
